The Big Picture: A History of Photography in Greater Cincinnati

Voyageur is currently producing a major, collaborative documentary project entitled The Big Picture: A History of Photography in Greater Cincinnati. This three-hour documentary series examines the role of photography in the development of Greater Cincinnati from 1839 to 1939. The Big Picture explores how photography grew from a scientific innovation into a vital visual medium that transformed our region socially, economically, politically and culturally. Voyageur is conducting research, meeting with scholars, and developing script treatments and production plans as part of the project’s  planning phase from January to July 2023. The Big Picture is made possible with support from The Tommy and Sarah Anness Evans Family Fund, Martha Garrison Anness Memorial Fund, Carl Stich and Amy Banister, and Ohio Humanities/National Endowment for the Humanities. Visit our project page for detailsThe Big Picture: A History of Photography in Greater Cincinnati.
